Feeding Your Baby Day by Day Fiona Wilcock MS RPHNutr Books
As a certified nutritionist and healthy foodie, I purchased 20 or so books about cooking for babies as I prepared for the birth of my lovely daughter. Without fail, this book has been my go-to since she started eating solids around 6 months, and I rarely reference any of my other books. Although I don't recommend trying to follow the meal plans themselves, as you will have to spend every day, all day, in the kitchen (which is basically impossible with an infant, nor is it desirable), I could not recommend more highly the recipes themselves (for omnivores or vegetarians alike, as my baby and I are veg).I have made at least 20+ of the recipes so far, and they are all incredibly tasty, and my baby LOVES them! Additionally, the general information and tips contained in the book are invaluable, particular to new moms like me, and as you progress through the months, you'll be saved by the many recipes that work for both baby and parents, because cooking separate meals can be very overwhelming, particularly once you go back to work as I have.
If there is one book you buy as you begin to think about feeding real food to baby, buy this one. It will not let you down, and it contains a wealth of information that will serve you from first solids all the way to the toddler years. I wish the author offered more cookbooks! 5 glowing stars!

Feeding Your Baby Day by Day Fiona Wilcock MS RPHNutr Books Reviews
Excellent in every way!
Love this book and its recipes. I have been using it since 2015. Sometimes I modify (increase) the amount of spices to add to get a more robust flavor as my child grows. Even though he's about 3 yrs old the recipes are versatile for parents and children. Looking forward to cooking the baby stuff again once the new one is born ) it's also my go to book whenever I'm not sure of what to cook for the family.
This was a my go-to book for when I started my daughter on solid foods at 6 months. Good general dietary advice without being too wordy; the last thing you want to read is a nutrition textbook when you don't have an excess of time. I appreciated having menu ideas laid out in weeks based on what stage the baby was at -- a variety of simple, one-ingredient intro foods quickly progressed to more interesting dishes that were easy to prepare.
This book not only has some great recipes but guidelines on how much kids should be eating, when to start using sippy cups, etc. It is a good guide for me with our first child as I'm a total novice. My only complaint is that most of the recipes are written to make just a couple of servings, so unless you scale up the numbers (and freeze the rest, like we do) it is a lot of effort for limited amounts of food.
I bought this book but then returned it due to I didn’t agree with with the feeding schedule. It wants you to introduce a new food every two days. The pediatrician said to give them same food for 4 days to check for allergies. So this didn’t fit what I was looking for. Also the meals were too complicated for a first time mom and start their baby on solids.
Amazing book! We have been following this book since our daughter was born and we have nothing but good things to say about it. It is very well done and has nice illustration pictures. The book explains why diversification is important and how and what to feed your baby from 5 months to 1 year old. It has hundred of recipes. Our 10 months old has now eaten without much issues, many kinds of meat, fish, veggies, fruits, baked food. The book has more recipes than you can cook, so you can pick and choose. No need to desperately try to find new recipes on your own. It is a time saver for busy parents. We typically cook all the meals on the weekend and freeze for the rest of the work week or later. Recipes are all fairly simple. All you need is a steam rack, a pan, a pot, and little food processor (or blender). Cooking will require some time on your part but I believe that the time spent cooking is an good investment for the future. The toddler will have good healthy habits, will not be picky, and will allow you to go eat out at restaurants all together. This book is great to give a good base food education to a child. We would recommend to everyone!
As a recipe resource for homemade baby food, this book is great. I have made lots of the recipes and I appreciate the variety and creativity, and that they are almost all freezer friendly. This has been my go-to source for baby food recipes since my baby started solids and I highly recommend it for that purpose. However, the meal plans are not very helpful. It would be nearly impossible to follow the meal plans unless you literally did nothing but make baby food all day, because they have you feeding the baby a different recipe for breakfast, lunch, and dinner almost every single day. It's just not practical. They also go against everything I've ever heard or read about the "4-day rule" for introducing new foods. If you follow the books plans, you are introducing new foods every 1-2 days, which I don't think is advisable at the beginning of introducing solids, since you want to be able to tell if your baby has an allergic reaction to a specific food. All that said, the recipes are fantastic, and the book really takes a lot of the guess work out of progressing your baby from milk to purees to thicker foods and finally to real family meals. The recipes are creative and encourage you to think outside the box when it comes to offering baby new foods. For example, I would have never thought to make a puree with salmon in it, but what do you know, my baby loves it! I would definitely recommend this book for the recipes, and the other information it contains outside of the meal plans is helpful as well.
